ABOUT THE PROJECT
THE PROCESS

For this beautiful Bride (who also happens to be my niece Sarah) I designed a romantic gown with a softly draping bodice reminiscent of the Edwardian silhouette. The gown has an underdress of silk faille. I appliqued the stunning lace Sarah had chosen to the overdress of very fine silk georgette.

A special touch I was able to add to Sarah’s dress was a panel of embroidered lace which I had made from pieces of lace from the wedding dresses of Sarah’s mother, grandmothers and great-grandmother. This ‘heritage panel’ made Sarah’s special gown even more meaningful and unique.

For this wedding I also designed and made the dresses for the Bridesmaid’s, two adorably cute flower girls, the Mother of the Bride and my own outfit.

This was such a very special project forme. I loved every minute of the time I spent on it.  So much so that it was the final impetus in my decision to wind down my legal career of thirty years and move on to this next chapter of my life.
