I’ll take the time to get to know you so that I can create something beautiful for you. A garment that fits you the way it should. The perfect garment to make you look and feel as beautiful as you deserve to be. Inspired by historical designs, concepts and techniques I hand craft each garment specifically for you.
As a child, I spent every Saturday morning the same way. I would go to ballet class and then in my leotard and bun, I would walk up the hill to Aunty Dot’s house. I loved Aunty Dot. She always wore a hat, gloves and pearls. No matter the occasion. Every Saturday morning, she and I would sew together. I still have Aunty Dot’s silver thimble and her pearls. And her sense of dressing for the occasion.
My love of sewing and creating beautiful clothes has been with me so long that I don’t remember when it began. It’s always been a part of me. I’ve been taught by my mum and Aunty Dot. And spent time learning design at the National Institute of Dramatic Art.
It would be my privilege to work with you to bring together my love of design, my skill at creating, and my knowledge of fit and fabric.
Creating beautiful is such a huge part of who I am and what I do. Seeing how beautiful you look in what we have created is my true joy.
We meet so I can get to know you and what inspires you. We discuss your special occasion, timelines and budget.
I design the perfect garment for you by marrying my knowledge of fabric and cut with my understanding of your body shape and how you will wear your dream gown. I aim to enhance the beauty in every woman.
I create a series of ‘toiles’ (literally working copies) of your garment to make sure the cut and fit are perfect for you. You need to trust me on this. It may not look it, but getting it right at this stage is the most important part of the process.
I use traditional couture techniques to create your garment. The foundations and under structures of the garment are vital. They are rarely seen but make all the difference to how you look and feel when you wear your dream dress.
Whether it is the perfectly simple hand sewn hem or intricate lacework and embellishment. I finish every garment by hand to ensure perfection in even the smallest detail.
